GDC Khansahib organised a programme on “Promotion of Mental Health in Educational Institutions”

The Psychological Counseling Cell in collaboration with the Department of Education organised a webinar on the theme “Promotion of Mental Health in Educational Institutions” on 14th January 2021. The guest speaker for the programme was Dr. Ulfat Jan, District Coordinator of Psychological Counseling Cell, Budgam.

The programme started with the welcome address by the worthy Principal of GDC Khansahib Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone. He highlighted the importance of organising such programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The speaker talked about the various issues related to the mental health of students. She said: “These young students never experienced a pandemic like this in their lifetime which has confined them to their homes. It’s important for teachers to remain connected with their students via online mode and keep them engaged in different academic activities”. She highlighted the importance of mental health and the role of teachers in promoting it. Prof. Ishfaq Ahmad, Convenor Psychological Counseling Cell, moderated the programme and delivered the vote of thanks as well.
