Asst. Prof Mohd Mohsin, (convener RRC) and Asst. Prof. Mohasin Maqbool (Co-convener RRC) along with two students namely Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Rouf Ahmad Ganie attended the Public Orientation and Book Release of State Drug de-addiction Policy for Jammu and Kashmir which was solemnized by Financial Commissioner (Health and Med. Edu.) Mr. Atal Dulloo (IAS) on the 18th of July 2019. The Programme took place in the Auditorium of GMC Srinagar. The programme was also meant to felicitate the Trainers on Drug de-addiction and HIV/AIDS by the worthy Financial Commissioner.
After having received the training during the previous year, the two teachers of this college and the two students were also awarded certificates by the worthy Commissioner. The programme also featured lectures on the current state of drug addiction in our valley and the efforts exerted by the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Kashmir (IMHANS) in collaboration with various government departments and NGO’s for curbing the problem. Earlier, the worthy Financial Commissioner released State Drug de-addiction policy book which is meant to give a direction and help serve a valuable tool in our fight against drug abuse in the state. The programmed provided us with valuable information about drug addiction and simultaneously provided us with tips for fighting against the problem. The two day training in which we had participated earlier and to-days orientation programme helped us a great deal in realizing our important role in the state’s fight against drug abuse. We were offered full cooperation and support by the medical team and other various officials in organizing awareness programmes of the nature in our college in future. Overall the programme was very helpful for both the teachers and the students in gaining knowledge and skills for fighting against drug abuse.
