Annual Day Celebrations Held at Govt. Degree College Khansahib
A maiden day-long annual function was held at GDC Khansahib on 30 March 2022. Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion included: Shri Pandurang K. Pole, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir (Chief Guest); Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khan, Chairman District Development Council – Budgam (Special Guest); Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Member DDC Budgam; Mr. Gh. Mohi-ud-Din, SDPO Khansahib & Mr. Aftab Ahmad Raina, SHO Khansahib.
Thereafter, he gave a briefing on the educational and infrastructural profile of the institution: A progress report since he took over as of the institution in early 2021. A beautiful students park, a large sports field, canteen, indoor stadium for girls, campus landscaping, two browsing centres were the main highlights. He further said that the work on a new classroom building, auditorium, compost pits and other sustainable practices will be undertaken in the current year. Dr. Indrabi sought help from the administration in dealing with some of the impediments being faced in the development of this institution: Acquisition of more land for development purposes, construction of an arch type entrance of the approach road, an uninterrupted power supply etc.

Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khan laid emphasis on the sanctity of educational institutions and role of teachers in moulding & shaping the character of students. He also promised financial assistance to the institution for meeting its essential developmental requirements.
Earlier, a number of cultural items were presented by the students of the college. Some of the students were felicitated for their achievements. More than a dozen students were given certificates of appreciation for their participation in sports activities. Two NSS volunteers were felicitated for their outstanding participation in social service and other activities organised in 2021. Other students who were encouraged by way of mementos and certificates included one each in Naat, Tilawat & best debater of 2021.
Prof. Aqeb Manzoor moderated the proceedings while Prof. Zafar Shadad Khan presented the vote of thanks.
